Hi, My little guy is almost 2 months now. His legs are looking better and better. I bought some Dalric corrective shoes for him. The farrier came out and attached and they stayed on for about 14 hours. We even padded and vetwrapped. My question: The adhesive that came in the kit was used up. What is the best - and safest - adhesive to use. Has anyone had any luck using these shoes? There are 2 reasons for this application: The foal still appears uncomfortable when walking and has had a series of soft spots on his soles - he is also starting to be a bit club footed due to walking on his toes so these shoes are designed to get them walking on the entire surface of their feet and then slowly lower the heel. The shoes are to stay on for 10-14 days. The store that I purchased the kit also sold gorilla glue and the farrier said he has used this - this is fairly easy to get at the local hardware store. The glue that came in the kit heated up and we had to use caution and watch how hot it got on his feet. I would imagine if we have to use that kind of adhesive every 14-24 hours to keep these shoes on - it will eventually soften the hoof wall - which I do not need any more issues . Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi Kathy, I'm so glad your colt is doing so well. What a long two months this has been for you and your family. If you could... send pictures so we can all marvel with you over his progress. Your experiences will one day be a boon to others. Marcia

Hello Kathy, It has been many years since using Ric Redden's Dalric Cuff shoes but don't remember having glue problems. I would recommend you call the company and talk with them about the trouble they should have some ideas. DrO
