I have a 7 yr old QH paint gelding. Very energetic. Does not "DrOp" when he urinates. Will often just dribble on his back legs. Then quit. Had two vets check him. At annual vet check, gave antibiotic (crushed up several white pills) for 60 days for tooth ache. Foul tooth odor (we did not smell it - the vet did when they worked on his teeth) went away. Mouth is sound. No change to urinating. Still does not "DrOp" when he urinates. Still dribbles. Some days worse than others. While taking the antibiotics we bought and gave the horse a herbal urinary tract infection treatment. No changes after the antibiotic or herbal treatment. Had a chiropractor come out and crack the horses back and did acupuncture. Horse was happier. He was "high headed" when we rode him. After treatment he DrOpped his head and had a better disposition (he was pretty good anyway). Overall in good health. Eats grass all the time. We put a mineral block out for him about 2 weeks ago. Seems to like salt. Our other QH mare is not consuming the salt as much. Any suggestions?

Have you cleaned his sheath, checked his penis for a bean?

Yes when he was vet checked in the spring. No smegma or bean.

Welcome blkpnt, When you say he dribbles: does he dribble constantly or does he dribble intermittently and how intermittently? What procedure did the veterinarians do and what were the findings? DrO

I have recently placed a mammoth donkey gelding, 15 years old, in good health, with an adopter. She called me today to say that yesterday and today when he seemed a bit "nervous" he DrOpped and dribbled urine. I had never noticed him doing that here at the rescue. Does anyone have any insight to this type of problem? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Ann Ann W. Ann, rather than interrupting Frank's discussion you should start a new one to help keep us organized. Using the navigation bar at the top of the page, back up one level to the titles of all the discussions on "Dribbling and Uncontrolled Urination" and you will find a new post button at the bottom. You might find the information you are looking for in one of the other discussions so you might look there first.
