Pumpkins RF hoof has this going on. This is the foot that had the lameness evauluated as CHPS last month. Noticed this 2 days ago. She was trimmed last week. It is also chipping on the side where the nails were. But is this seedy toe or??? She has never foundered since Ive had her (3 years) and Im pretty sure never before that..Im going to email this to my farrier too. But thought I would get your take as well. Thank you for any help. Hey D Here are some more. She is barefoot as I am wanting to try boots and pads for her. I am wondering if this is her lameness problem all along. (DrO seems to always preface Nav synDrOme or CHPS with the word 'Bilateral'. The lameness, which is grade 2, is only in her RF. When I got my bill I noticed it said the vet did an 'Abaxial nerve block' not a PDN(which is what I thought was done to confirm pain is in heel area.). I thought this whole time he did a PDN. In the first picture of your recent photos...is her white line raised and lumpy?

Leslie, Could you get a closer picture of her feet from the angle shot. I can't tell if it's the hoof dressing or her actual feet, but to me it looks like her toes are long and her heels are low and she has a significant amount of flare. The flare may be causing the chipping at her toe and if so she should be having her toe backed up to give her better breakover and to remove the flare. Rachelle

Hi guys D. Yea it seems lumpy from WL towards toe. Ill have to look again tomorrow. Rach She was trimmed last week and I had him pull the eggbars. he said he didnt want to trim too much off since we pulled the shoes. She is on a 4 week schedule. But her feet seem weird looking to me. Not right.

Great pictures leslie, and my first impression is you simply have some wall broken out possibly by the increased stress of slightly long toes. But the images do not rule out disease. To check for disease of the horn, the defect should be carefully pared out to its margins to see if the horn is otherwise healthy. As to the foot's length and balance be sure the farrier is aware of the length and the slight ap imbalance and see what can be done to correct it. DrO
