Posted on Friday, May 27, 2005 - 5:05 am: Hi all. Have read all the archived discussions and can't find where to get the Indian Mud, or the right Crest to choose of all the brands available today!! Help please with any info! For some reason I am not able to get into the Yahoo sarcoid group mentioned for additional info... Stacy |

Posted on Saturday, May 28, 2005 - 8:08 am: Thanks Dr. O, I just live too far from major centers to do the University thing with this filly. She has the fibroblastic sarcoids in both ears. I hope to post some pics if I get some good results - my computer skills have grown mainly due to this filly!! Best Wishes, Stacy |

Posted on Friday, Jun 3, 2005 - 9:04 pm: Sarcoids can come on suddenly and grow large very quickly. Two Vets thought my boy had a melanoma, but proved to be a sarcoid brought on by an insect bite. There are topical sarcoid treatments available through your Vet (here on the east coast) if you are lucky that are very effective but not readily available due to all the problems with getting approvals, etc. |

Posted on Saturday, Jul 2, 2005 - 6:34 pm: Happy news to report!! My two year old filly had three large fibroblastic sarcoids in her ears that are GONE after 6 days of XXterra and two weeks of doing nothing. I have tried to attach the pics but they are too large so I will try to put them on my profile. Let me know if you see them. This herbal paste was nothing short of amazing - you would never know she had the tumors as of today!! Stacy |

Posted on Saturday, Jul 2, 2005 - 7:31 pm: Trying to attach the "before" picture, but unable due to a size restriction. I sent them to the web manager in a separate letter so maybe they'll put them on. If you have a special interest, I can mail them to anyone who asks, just let me know at stacyupshaw@earthlink.net. I know I can do that at least...When it comes to me and computers, I'll "keep my day job"! |

Posted on Tuesday, Jul 5, 2005 - 9:05 am: Hi Dr. O, didn't know if you saw my last two posts. Thank you again for the info -the XXterra did the job!! Hope the web site will post the pics as the tumors were fairly large and are now gone. I'd like to give a little hope to anyone else who is dealing with this problem. Stacy |

Posted on Tuesday, Jul 5, 2005 - 1:33 pm: I got it through our vet. $75 for a small jar, but it doesn't take much - the sarcoid is long gone and I have plenty left over. I don't know of the safety for pregnant mares. Shari |

Posted on Tuesday, Jul 5, 2005 - 2:02 pm: I got it at www.vetlineequine.com, spoke with one of the inventor's sons, and they were also very helpful when I called with questions and photos. I think I read somewhere in my research that it was ok for gestation, but they could tell you for sure. I think Dr. Larson himself is around the area when you call... Stacy |

Posted on Wednesday, Jul 6, 2005 - 12:09 pm: There has not been any work on the safety of Xxtera and pregnancy that I have seen, though the company may have some experiences. I would wait till after foaling unless I had a aggressively growing sarcoid.DrO |

Posted on Thursday, Jul 17, 2008 - 6:56 am: Hi,I am in Ireland and have purchase an ex-racehorse with some sarcoids. I am on the 3rd day of his treatment with Xtterra cream and this morning he was finding it painful to walk as the back 2 sarcoids are located on his back passage and stifle. There is a lot of swelling and pus is beginning to ooze out. I am feeling really guilty about doing this to him but i know that once i have started the treatment i cannot abandon it until the 5 days are up- does anyone have experience of the Xtterra cream reacting like this? Will it get better? Nushie |

Posted on Thursday, Jul 17, 2008 - 10:54 pm: Hello Nushie. I saw that same pain, swelling and sensitivity starting on day two, minus the pus. When the sarcoids DrOpped off, the pain was less but then my mare got secondary bacterial infection on day 8 and needed a course of Bactrim(sulfa). You may be having some bacterial infection as well. Eventually all problems cleared completely. If you are still having pus and/or odor, I would consider the possibility of infection. Stacy Upshaw(BTW, I did try the toothpaste to no avail!) |

Posted on Friday, Jul 18, 2008 - 4:15 am: Hi NushieDo you know what type of sarcoids your horse has? Where are you in Ireland? I'm in Cork and there are a couple of other Irish members on this site. Well done you for purchasing an ex-racehorse. I was at the recent IHTS event in Boulta and saw two or three there which had been rehabbed through a charity and going well at the lower level classes. Best wishes Imogen |

Posted on Friday, Jul 18, 2008 - 4:39 am: Hello-It is nice to hear from other people that have some experience of sarcoids. My horse Jazz has 2 different types of sarcoids- one type is kind of flat and bumpy and looks like dried mud- he has 3 of them- all quite small. The big one was the size of a ping pong ball- that has now burst and last night i hosed him down completley to wash the blood and pus off but each time he moves it seeps out again. Tonight is the last night for applying the Xtterra cream, my 2 oz jar is nearly finished so will be interesting to see how it heals up. I have Camrosa cream to help with healing as my friends swear by it powers! Poor Jazz- i am sure he is wondering why i am doing this- i really hope the sarcoids go. Will update over the next while. Hi Imogen- I am in Dublin, just at the back of Dublin Airport.Whereabouts in Cork are you? I have Jazz registered with Eventing Ireland as would love to eventually do some pre-novice classes on him. He is a lovely kind animal and i was so thrilled to get him. It is a shame that most ex- racers are sent to the paddock in the sky when they are deemed too slow! If i had the money & land i would have more of them!:-) |
