I have noticed that after riding my mare (31/2) is moderately swollen above her hind fetlocks, just on the inside. The swelling extends 3-4 inches up her leg. It is soft and spongy, does not seem to be sore and is always gone by the next day.
Is this from too much exercise for her age/condition?
Last year she had scratches, the are not completely cleared up, could they be affecting the legs?
Today I wrapped her legs, instead of using boots, there was some swelling but not nearly as much.
Should I continue to wrap her legs before I ride? She is on turnout when not being ridden.
Thank you
