I was wondering if using fish oil to help with symptons of chronic diarrhea associated with IBD would be useful on our horse? The reason why I asked is a friend discovered by accident that when he took fish oil capsules it helped with his symptons of irritable bowel synDrOme. He has crohn's disease.

Hello ann,
It is not likely but I do not know any work one way or the other. The problem is the differences in the anatomy and physiology of the horses digestive system. A lot has happened to the ingesta by the time it makes to the part of the horses bowel that is responsible for the diarrhea so the oil will have been digested and absorbed.
