I brought my horses in this afternoon noticed my mare rosie had a scratch with little opening on the top lid of her eye no bleeding but swelling and alot of tearing I flused the eye with eye saline solution but was wondering if they make an eye antibotic ointment that I can put on it since it is so close to the eye. thanks elaine

Elaine you could get standard antibacterial eye ointments from your veterinarian to treat the lid wound. I personally think careful use of a OTC 3X antibiotic ointment is good enough. Just be very sparing in its use.

Warning though, watch that eye closely. Often scratches and bruising are not readily evident the first day and the following signs hidden by the swollen partially closed lids. When in doubt best to have your vet examine the eye.
