Have a new horse that has inflammation in the eyelid (3rd eyelid? Not sure what this part of the eye is called.) No tearing, just inflammation. COuld this be a blocked tear duct or???

Thanks!

No I don't think this is a blocked tear duct. Normally it does not cause such swelling and you would see tearing. Remember that inflammation is not a diagnosis but a disease condition, caused by a primary problem like trauma, infection, or cancer. I am unable to tell from the photo exactly what the nature of the swelling is: has it been looked at by the veterinarian and if so what do they say the cause of the inflammation is or at the least what is the nature of the swelling?
