I have searched but can not find whether or not a bleach solution will, in fact, kill the organism that causes rain rot on my brushes and curry combs. I would like to disinfect my grooming supplies every time I use them and just don't know what the best - most effective product to use would be.

I also wonder how sharing grooming tools passes the organism along since it does not live long in an oxygen environment?

hi robin
per DrO article~ 2 tbl per gallon will kill it. but the solution dissipates...so make daily.

Thanks! I made a solution much stronger just to be on the safe side to use initially. Will the bleach kill the organism in dense brushes where I might not have been able to remove all the hair?
