I found this when doing some research and the information is supposedly from the Purinia Mills web site about a plant called Creeping Indigo:

Vet explained to my friend the reasons why there is no way the horse has Pigeon Fever.

He is doing better and the fluid accumulations have reduced greatly in size.

Vet continues to say this is toxin-induced illness.
