Well, I'm back! This time with my other horse! My mare somehow lacerated an artery and nerve, took off part of her heel and a small amount of her hoof - all in the left front inside area. Shes been on stall rest for 3 weeks with a cast. The cast came off yesterday and we are now wrapping with dermagel, telfa, vet wrap and duct tape. The vet said she can be outside and stall rest no longer needed, as long as shes by herself (so no other horses bother her). We have a foot of snow, and my concern is the duct tape is too slippery to be worn in the snow. I have considered easy boots, but her feet are flat and wide, and with the extra bandaging, I don't think a boot will fit. Any ideas to make the duct tape "unslippery" (for lack of a better word)? Otherwise it looks like she will be stuck in a stall to avoid the snow.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Switch to Elastikon but it is a lot more expensive than the duct tape. On the other hand it will go on a lot better.

Awesome suggestion, thanks! You just saved me about $100 for stall board!
