I have a 8 year old Gelding Paint that recently urinates in small bursts then it dribbles. I have checked his penis for any cherries in the sheath and pressed around his genitals for tenderness. Has anyone every seen this happen?

Welcome Antonia,
I have seen healthy horses that urinate in spurts and then dribble a little bit at the end. You can even throw in a grunt or two on the last few spurts. If I could see what you are seeing I might feel a little differently. Tape an episode for your veterinarian and see if he feels the same way. Post it on UTube and we all will pass judgement.

Thank you for your response. I have asked people at the barn and the feedback i am getting is "beans". The vet will be out tomorrow to give look at him. I will let you know what she says.

Thanks Antonio,
I have seen very large beans (4 cm across) in horses that were not acting like this but certainly something every horse should be checked for every year or so. While waiting for your vet you can read about beans at HorseAdvice.com » Horse Care » Routine Horse Care » Sheath Cleaning in Horses.
