Hello Dr. O,

I have always used the spray nitrofurazone and the chlorhexidine ointment for wound care, but I'm finding that neither is available anymore. I believe the spray furazone has been taken off the market, and the chlorhexidine ointment is impossible to find (out of stock everywhere.) What do you recommend as substitute for these items for wound care?

Thank you!!

Hello CC,
I would consider the use of povidone (Betadine) ointment.
