Hello everyone

Update on baby levi , he is doing great and growing very fast . He is eating grain and started on hay nibbling , drinking water and has been started with leading . I have a few questions ,
1) He has had a slight runny nose that is yellow but only out of one nostril, I have been wiping his nose like a toddler .Is this something normal ?
2) I noticed yesterday that he has small patches of hair missing on the tips of his ears and around his muzzle , and a small bit under his legs . What is this all about ?
Levi will be 1 month old tomorrow , he is eating Omolene 300 with his mother and is having Alphalfa , but in very small amounts .
How much should he really be eating ?

Thanks for the help

First, I would have a vet check him for a respiratory problem. We usually give tribissen paste for a snotty nose on babies. Check with you vet. As for hay, let him eat as much as he wants to with his mom. Are they on pasture too? EO

Hello All,
Just like children, snotty noses are pretty common and not by themselves a sign of a serious respiratory disease. Fever, persistent cough, and increased respiratory signs are more indicative of a serious problem. It sounds to me like he is shedding his foal coat bit early and this may be stimulated by the time of year.

Yes they are on pasture and let out to graze in the yard also , he will eat grain it may be about a hand full or a little more than that then he walks away like he doesnt want anymore, as for the hay he seems to be getting the taste for it but maybe he is just playing around with it . I have noticed him starting to reach down and eat at the grass the past couple of days . Other than these couple of things he is doing very good and is so full of energy .

Thanks Dr O.
His nose isnt bad all of the time , it seems to show more after he has ran around like a maniac. No fever and no cough at all this definetly has not slowed him down a bit
