During a last trim, my farrier saw white line disease with varying degrees on all fours of my rescued horse. He pared out on both fronts and recommended white lightning made by grand circuit. Has anyone used this product? The instructions say to soak with 2oz white lightning, 2oz vinegar and enough water to cover half the hoof in a bag and seal at the top to keep the chlorine dioxide gas in for 40-45 minutes 2/3 times a week. Any success stories?

I have used it. It did not end disease. I think Clean Trax worked better. Better yet clean bedding and lots of turn out.

Ok thanks for the info. There are so many products on the market and differing opinions of which works best! He was on 24/7 turnout and we have had a very wet year so have dealt with a number of abscesses and now this. He is being stalled for part of the day and is finally getting used to it. It is a challenge when you don't know any history but also rewarding.

Welcome shyboy, It is not so much the product you use, though I will stand by my recommendations in the article as inexpensive and effective, but the trimming and management that allows the treatment to work. DrO
