Hi, My pony has had Cushings for about 6 years and for the last two I have been using a homeopathy treatment developed especially for him by a local homeopath who thought they could help. I will say that I was highly sceptical but thought, what the heck it's worth it as he was going down hill and I hated seeing my old horse this way. The only thing I changed was the homeopathics. Within 2 weeks my old horse had perked up, put weight back on, stopped the excessive drinking and peeing, and personality wise he was back to his old self. He started back into light regular work and has been now for 2 years. For the last two years I give him his remedy at the first signs of another "flare up" where he starts showing all of the signs and these go away after a couple of days. He has no signs of laminitis and thankfully hasn't had any colic. Everybody who has known my horse for ever can't believe how well he is looking and neither can I. I still can't believe it- but it seems to work for him. My question is, does Cushings come in waves? Do symptoms increase and plateau or even subside or is it just a gradual intensification? Thanks, Susan

Well since I can't seem to get the ingredients let me put my standard warning about homeopathic preparations here: there are no known biological, chemical, or physical forces by which these preparations could possibly effect biological systems. I am delighted your horse is doing better but if you are giving a homeopathic preparation, you should look at the changes that occur on a daily basis in every environment and changes made before starting treatment, perhaps it just took awhile to see an effect.
