  Discussion on Cause of abortion
Author Message

I have an 18 year old mare who has now aborted a foal late term two years in a row. The first foal was tested and was found to have nothing wrong. I am in the process of testing the second. I thought the first abortion was a fluke now I am concerned. This is a closed group of three mares that are vaccinated for rhino. None of the other mares have aborted. What possible causes are there. I hesitate to breed this mare again. Up until two years ago this mare never had a breeding problem.

Hello Kim,
Just back up one page to Equine Diseases: Reproductive Diseases: Problems Keeping Mares
