Discussion on Barn Fans & AnhiDrOsis

Dr O, Here's my dumb question of the day! The barn owner at the place I used to board my horses always advised against excessive/early in the summer use of fans to cool the horses, on the premise that it could contribute to development of anhiDrOsis. Does that seem logical to you?

I started to answer no but the more I think about it, I can conjure up a scenerio. What if keeping cool early in the season makes adaption to the heat later harder? Seems unlikely but I have no information that proves or disproves the idea. See the article for more details on the current theory of why this problem develops.
