We have never had such tick problems as this year. What products are providing the best protection?
thanks!!!

We had the same experience with hosts of ticks! Fortunately they seem to be gone now. We always found them attached to the tail bone and on the mare's udder and the gelding's sheath, which we checked daily. At times we removed 5 or 6 per day, but mostly from the tail bone.

Absorbine Ultra Shield (black spray bottle with gold writing) applied every 4-5 days works 100%. It needs to be reapplied to areas that sweat after being ridden or after a rain, but it sure worked for us.

Good luck! They are horrible pests and I can't imagine what their purpose on God's great earth is! If someone knows, please tell me!

Ahhhh... the last question makes me wax philosophical: a pasture of cows sitting around discussing life and upon seeing the McDonald's Hamburger Truck go by one exclaims in disgust, "Humans, I can't imagine what their purpose on God's great earth is!"

Touche!

LOL! That was a great way to start my day! I get a visual picture from your philosophical waxing, and it was...to say the least...hilarious! And I suppose...you also make a considerably good argument in the defence of ticks. I still however remain undaunted in my hatred for the seemingly useless insect.
