We have a 5yo Palomino QH gelding with about a 1 inch round bubble about 2 or 3 inches directly in front of his sheath on his stomach. This bubble stands out about ¾ of an inch and appears to be filled with blood at least it is a dark color.

Can anyone tell me what this might be? We will get a vet to look at it and do test or something if it doesn’t change to the better or go away soon. Its something we have been watching for a couple weeks.

He also has some not visible lumps under the skin on his neck; you can feel when petting him.

Any advice?

Thanks
Carl

What does the bubble feel like Carl and how long has it been there? Is the skin bubbled out or does this not appear like skin? A picture might help us.

The bumps under the skin can be a large number of things but there history, number, location, size, and feel might allow an examiner to make educated guesses. To know for sure will require biopsy.

Sorry, I should have thought of that.

I will get a good picture this afternoon and try and post it on here.

Thanks

It feels soft like fluid filled. Not hard and here is a picture attached.

Its been there at least 4 weeks now maybe longer. Its not causing any problem or getting worse. It is just worrying Mommy !

The ones in the neck area are hard and there are 3 or 4.

I have picture but it wont let me attach them.

Well possibilities for the ventral swelling would be hernia and on the neck, fly bites but these are just guesses. For more on uploading images see, News & Help » Uploading Images and Files Into a Posting.
