Hello,
Your description is very good for what is found in experimentally induced hypothyroidism. One exception is lameness was not a feature in the studies I have seen. The condition is so rare in adult horses that this is the only way we have been able to study this phenomena.

Have you run laboratory values for T3 and T4? What were those numbers. Have you considered running a TSH test? There is more on this at, Disease: Endocrine: Hypothyroidism.
