Dr. O,
Can you provide any recommendation or update on logistics of surgery for stenosis? Approximate cost? Also, if recommending a second opinion would you recommend NC State of VPI or another nearby facility? Our 22yo T'bred gelding has begun showing signs. We'll be getting cervical films done soon. Is MRI of a horse even possible? We're obviously unable to ride him but don't want to euthanize him if he can live a happy life as a pasture ornament.
Best,
John

Hello John,
I have just uploaded and updated article on Wobblers and so will refer you to there for the latest information. I don't know of anyone with a MRI machine that can visualize the horses neck but if the machine can hold the horses neck in position it should be possible. Start with good standing radiographs then consider what further diagnostics might be useful.

As to a referral I don't which school might be better so calling and inquiring about experience would be your best step here.
