Discussion on Rabies Detected in my Area

Hi-
My horses were both given rabies shots (one in February, one in April, 2001). Our local wildlife officer made an "official visit" to us yesterday, telling us that they had an official case of rabies in a raccoon in the area - we live on a river, so he said to watch out for infected animals.
Question- Should I get the vet to give the horses another rabies shot just in case?
Thanks!

I think this may be prudent if it has been more than 6 months. We currently do not believe the vaccine is as dependable in horses as it is in dogs.
