Dear Dr. O. I have a rather "hot" Hanovarian mare who, I've found out ,has been given Regumate only when the "barn manager" feels like it and not daily as recommended by my vet. Needless to say, I will administer it myself in the future. The facility I board her at is currently hosting a 100 Day Stalion Testing and my mare is behaving horribly. She is edgy and generally inattentive, bolting, bucking etc. Can you tell me the effects of sporatic Regumate use both physically and beaaviorally? Can you also tell me what effect, if any, Regumate has if it comes in contact with the skin of a human male. [I am aware of the precautions to be taken by females] Thank you for your time. bonsmom

As far as we know at this time it is safe when used this way for more on the effects, see the article "Progesterone and Regumate " associated with this forum.
