Dr. O Could you tell me how Amikacin is classified pharmacologically. I wish to compare two named drugs for the treatment of one named disease in one named species...I am not allowed to select non steroidal anti-inflammatories, opoid or poly-glycoaminoglycans or hyaluronic acid. Would antimicrobials be ok do you think.?. Mum said I could use her web site to ask you, because she cannot help me. From Charlotte..Alison's daughter.

Hello Charlotte,
There are no antibiotics in the classes of drugs you describe above so they should be fine. Amikacin is classified as an aminoglycoside.
