What is your personal favorite IA steriod for CJ injection?
Do you change to a different steriod for high ringbone or low? mild or severe?

I read the article and it showed several types of steriods are used for joint injections, some longer lasting...
why use a short lasting one?

thanks

Hello lara,
No I don't have a favorite and as your post suggests it will depend on many factors. In general the rule is use the mildest shortest acting steroid that gets the job done. The "Recommendations" section of the article associated with the area gives specifics.

The difference in high and low ringbone is that in the case of high ringbone fusion is an option therefore a more aggressive approach can be taken since alternative treatments are possible if you do damage with the steroid.
