I just bought an English pleasure arab mare with a double Ofir in her pedigree. She is quite big for an arab. My bask bred arab mare is small compared to her. Im breeding my bask arab to a witez 2 bloodline stallion who is also her size. I got a nice foal out of her last breeding with him. However, this new mare who by the way is a big baby and belonged to a 9 yr. old is too big for the stallion but the stud farm has a thoroughbred stallion that not only is just the right size for her but is a seattle slew grandson with the most laid back temperament for a stallion of his breed. I wanted to try to stay with arab to arab but I really just want to preserve both bloodlines as thoroughbreds are great horses also and have nice sporthorses in my breeding program. Any feedback to my deciding to do this would be much appreciated.
