Can anyone help me understand how prepubic tendon and/or oblique, transverse abdominal and/or rectus abdominus muscle rupture might be tied to prolapse of the intestine out the anus?

I have not seen ruptured horses that prolapsed. My first thought is that with rupture the abdominal pressure lessens and pulls the intestines away from the anus so would seem unlikely to cause prolapse but if the rupture causes a horse to strain to defecate he might push out a length of rectum.
