We have a new foal, born about 8 hours ago, is it normal for a foal to be born with eyes closed?
One eye is wide open but one is only open in the corner about 1/8 of an inch. Is this normal?

Have you tried to gently pull the eyelids apart?
Could there be some matter that is making the eye stick together? Have you called a vet to aske if you could try to pull the eyelids apart? EO

This is not normal Angela but your post does not give us information enough to know what the problem is: have you attempted to carefully manually open the lens? If you cannot get any further along with figuring this out it is important to have the eye examined quickly, in case there is damage or infection.
