a friend of mine just bought via internet- a miniature horse stallion , nine years old, the breeder had told her that he has a "growling or groaning" sound at times when excited.. I was there to see him today, and its a low whistle and a more honking sound while breathing- during eating,or when hes excited.. then you don't hear it while hes walking around.. would this be considered a form of "roaring" or is there another ailment that mini horses are prone to? the vet that checked him before shipping said it was nothing.. its quite noticeable to me. Thanks for any help!

I had a foal that did this once, it went away on its own never to resurface though. I'd get a second opinion on it if she's planning on breeding him which it sounds like she is.
