My mare was bred on June 2nd and was determined to be pregnant by ultrasound on June 20th. She's 22, very healthy and proven broodmare with 6 foals. Had the vet do another check at about 50 days. He said she was definitely not pregnant because her ueterus was too tight. SHe has not come back into heat and I wonder, could she still be pregnant? Also, she's been gaining a little weight but I understand that mares do not usually gain weight until the 5th month.

She could be, if you are uncertain have her checked again by an experienced palpator.
