  Discussion on Showing in-hand..

When I finally decide what horse Im getting I want to do some showing in-hand with them, but I don't know anything about it. How should I condition/prepare a horse for this? What exactly goes in at these types of shows and what do me/my horse have to do? Is there any website where I can search for halter shows because I don't know of any in my area or anyway of finding out?
What's the difference between halter shows and inspections?

Any info is appreciated as I know nothing about this.
Thanx

Suggest you buy the USDF Showing your sport horse in hand video tape. I think it is only about $20 and will get you well started. Check htt://www.usdf.org/ for ordering information.

Inspection presentations vary by the individual breed association.

Showing a dressage sport horse in hand is fairly consistent at a show - triangle at a walk, larger triangle at a trot, standing the horse up.

Unless you are a breeder, showing a horse in hand is basically good for giving a young horse some experience and gives you something to do until it is time to start the horse under saddle.
