Hi all- I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this post, but I couldn't find a section on Rider Apparel... My question is: Does anyone know what company (if any) makes a tall field boot that will fit a 12/13 year old girl correctly? I am trying to fit my tall, skinny daughter who wears a size 8 ladies shoe (yep, that's right) but who needs the slim calf and shorter height of a children's field boot. I have tried the Ovation Children's Field boot, and they fit great height-wise, and around the calf, but the foot measurements are too small. I do not want to go the custom route. If anyone has any leads, I would be most appreciative!

Don't know if they make field boots, but I have Petrie Dressage boots and they come in a very wide ranges of size combinations (foot, calf, length).

Good Luck!

Thank you, Chris. I checked out the Petrie boots- they look beautiful, but it appears that they only make dressage boots, plus they run close to $400! I'm hoping to find something more affordable....

Dover Saddlery's catalogue shows a field boot by Ovation. Children's sizes stop at 7, with the height at 16 3/8". Ladies size 8 is 18 1/2". There are two syles, one is $119.90, the "Pro" is $139.80...check them out at www.doversaddlery.com. Good luck!

I don't know at what level your daughter is showing, but how about a paddock boot with a leather half chap? Ariat makes them to match and when put on together, they look a lot like a hunt boot and are legal to show in and acceptable at the lower level shows at least. Just a thought if you can't find a boot to fit.

I don't think that half chaps are allowed according to USEF rules but would definitely suggest that you check with show management directly to confirm.

The half chaps that Ariat makes, when worn with a paddock boot look like a hunt boot, but what's allowed depends on whether it's a rated show as Chris says, check and be sure.
