I was just wondering, if, anyone has one of these saddles. For their gaited horses. And how does these fit and are you happy with them. I have Rocky Moutain Horses and I found out my western saddle doesn't fit properly. And if, you have a rocky moutain horse what saddle do you find that works with these horses? Thank you for your feed back.

Laura, you should not look upon Rocky Mountain Horses as a single type where one saddle fits all. Nor should you look at all western saddles as being the same. I have seen western saddles of all types on TWH, RMH, Pasos, and most things inbetween. What is important is that your saddle fit your horse. The aricle Training Horses » Tack and Training » Types of Saddles and Fitting discusses how to determine this. We ride TWH and Pasos and our family preferences run to Wintec Dressage, Australian Stock type, or Endurance saddles for trail riding. We are looking for a balanced seat. With the dressage you have to add your own saddle bag rings. DrO

Dr. O - which brand of Australian Stock-type saddle have you found to be the best as far as quality of workmanship, wearability, etc.?

Cashel Co. makes a neat add on for English saddles. It's a small pad with rings and strings called Tie One On. They have lots of really good quality innovative horse products. Check out their bug shields!https://www.cashelcompany.com/ Jerre

We have a Wintec Austratian Stock Saddle and have used it for over 15 years. It does show wear and has been relegated to an occasional visitor's saddle but still quite usable. The newer Wintecs we have have significantly tougher coverings. According to my wife they quit making this model a while and have begun to produce it again. DrO
