My barefoot hoof trimming friend sent me this. She liked seeing the muscles move, I was amazed at how low the fetlocks go to the ground on impact! I want to film my horses moving now and watch them in slow mo!

That's neat! Isn't it amazing how low the fetlocks go! I noticed this when I first got into horses and studied Eadweard Muybridge's photographs of the "horse in motion". It was a series of 24 cameras, set up on a track, and it caught a stride of the horse Occident as it was galloping by. His fetlocks almost touch the ground! (This was in 1878.)

For me, it gives more appreciation for the horse's legs and just how strong everything has to be in order to support the horse. Add a rider to it, and it's even more amazing.

=)
