It is now allowed to use a bitless bridle in dressage her in South Africa!! I'm really happy as about this as people are now starting to realise gentler methods have more success than cruel methods. I have decided to buy one for my mare, Amanda and can't wait to get it! It is the Kaydle bitless bridle developed by Patrick Kaye. What do you think about the bitless bridles system? Has anyone tried it before? Would love to hear any info you can give me. Below is a photo of Amanda's eye I took about a month ago, how does it look?

Nice photo! (I'd try again without the reflection of the photographer in it though, jmho) Depending on the style of bitless, you may want to begin getting used to indirect rein use. And keep in mind that even a bitless can be harsh, as any piece of tack it's all in how it's use. Have fun!

we have a bitless bridle - works well - love it - use it when we want to ride in the green pastures and graze. It very nice looking too. but it is a pain when you first get it to figure out how to put in on the horse. different then a bit. LOL but worth it if you want that. but remember you are exchanging the bit for pressure on the face to communicate to your horse - Use Gentle Hands.

We all LOVE our Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridles. Just posted on it before I saw this thread. Good luck Lea-Anne, Amanda will love you for it. Nice photo. Erika
