I am going to buy a quarter sheet so I am wondering if anyone has a tip or could share what they like about a certain style.

thank you.

Last summer I bought a polar fleece one from Dover. It was very inexpensive on sale, around $35 if I remember right, and I like it. It's the kind that can go up over my legs or under the saddle.

In the past, I was able to find some old wool army blankets. I used them instead of buying one. I just laid it under the saddle and attached ties so I could tie it under the tail. It was a small cot size blanket and worked pretty good unless it was really windy. If you're looking for "on the cheap" and strictly utilitarian a square of polar fleece from the remnants bin would work. It's pretty easy to attach tie strips or velcro.

Great idea on recycling, I have a badly ripped cooler that will do the trick quite nicely.

thank you.
