Hi all,
The owner of this 2 yr old 3/4 TB x 1/4 Arab filly is in a 'must sell' situation and I was considering going to look at her as a project. Just looking at the pics she sent, and is it just me, or do her tendons look bowed? This filly has not been started under saddle/ridden yet. I have not had any personal experience with bowed tendons, so any thoughts/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Lee C

Hello Lee,
I see such conformation in young horses that are not bowed. The smooth contour, normal dimpling of the suspensory on the left, and L and R symmetry all suggest this is the horse's conformation. However a good exam needs to confirm this impression.

DrO, when you say in 'young horses', does this mean that if this is not a tendon issue, how they look may change as she matures? If they do not change, would this be considered a conformation 'fault'?
Thank you,

Assuming no pathology, I do not consider this a flaw and yes I would expect the appearance to become less "tied in" looking with age and as the horse fills out and matures.
