I don't think the saddle that I bought is the right one so I thought maybe you could point me in the right direction I have a 8 and 5 year old.

Rhonda-- There are hundreds of folks on this site far more qualified to address this issue, but here are a few things to consider. Though it is important that the saddle is a good fit for your kids, it is equally important that it fit your horse well. There are some excellent resources on the web, and there are professional saddle fitters who can help. I would start by reading about proper saddle fit and go from there. Do you have a knowledgeable horse person to help you? A mentor is invaluable. I know many people who like Wintec saddles as they are adjustable (for the horse) and not horribly expensive. Because you have young children, you will almost certainly purchase at least one more saddle as they grow, requiring a larger seat size. Here is just one link. There is so much info available online on this subject that it's hard to know where to start. Just dive in, and have fun! https://www.todayshorse.com/Articles/FitanEnglishSaddle.htm Also, if you can find anyone nearby giving a saddle fitting clinic, try and attend. You'll get some good info there too.

Rhonda, When you do decide what type of saddle you want, you may want to check out these websites. They sell used saddles at great prices. The best part is that you can try out the saddle and return it if necessary. I ordered a Passier Nicole dressage saddle from Bucks County Saddlery for only $995 and the saddle is in great condition. This saddle will sell for over $2000 brand new. The customer service was great also. www.bcsaddlery.com www.heritagesaddlery.com
