You need a rope that will tie to two trees that is long enough to tie the horses on it with out them crowding each other. On the rope you need clips or loops to tie each horse to so the horses own line dosen't slide over to another horses line. You will also be able to tie hay nets on this line so your horses can eat while being tied. Another thing you could try are those portable corrals they sell, but you have to know how well your horse would stay in a little, one hot wire fence before you try that. I have a horse that would be fine in it, but then my other hosre would find away out, so the line works great for me. Oh, be sure the line is tied high enough up for you or your horses to walk under. Have fun! |

You can use an old cinch or you can go to an Auto wrecking yard and get old seat belts and turn over and sticth each end to pull the rope through. You need Knot Eliminator which you can buy in any Tack store, one for each horse and one for a pully, there is instructions how to use. These will allow you to tie your lead rope through. Remember to get the rope high enough and NEVER let your lead rope be any lower than to the top of your horses shoulder. I have seen horses get caught in their lead ropes or tie ropes and you can have a big wreck. You can see a picture of the highline by loging onto www.bchw.org This is the Back Country Horseman page. Please read the Tread Lightly articials. Be safe and have fun. Judy |
