Does anyone have any good/cheap sites that will help me start a LLC? I would have some time to do some of the legwork if it's not too difficult, but would prefer to just pay $200 and not have to do a thing other than sign the papers. Anyone specialize in equine LLC or is an LLC and LLC regardless of the way it is utilized?

Don't know about doing it online because it is filed within your state. Every state has different rules. I just worked out an LLC for my employer and it involved filing for a name, a written operating agreement, filing articles of organization, along with applying for federal ID numbers. My advice is to call a few attorneys and see what they will charge. It does not involve a lot of time on their part so may be in your price range without going through the internet. Good luck, Linda

We recently formed an LLC for our boarding stable in Washington and used legalzoom.com They were fast and, as I recall, the total cost was just over $200. They did all of the filing and required advertising. No rush, no fuss! I'll be using them again for another matter. Good luck!

Our barn is an 'S' Corporation, but I started another business that was an LLC. The articles of incorporation were filed by an attorney, and cost was way more than your budget, unfortunately. Just remember you have to file an annual report, and I think some states require quarterly reports, so just be sure to check requirements!
