Quest (moxidectin) Use in Horses

Introduction

There has been much controversy surrounding the use of Quest since its introduction to the American market in 1999. This is inspite of it's successful use in Australia and European countries for years prior to approval here. The Advisor believes that this is a safe product when used according to the label. This product should not be used in debilitated horses or those suspected of having large parasite burdens. Best is to first use less effective products like Strongid paste for several dewormings before giving any of the larvicidal products like Quest or ivermectin.
