The Knee: problems with back and over at the knees

Abnormal Conformation of the Knee (Carpus) of the Horse

In the images below the following abnormalities are illustrated. The knee of the left is "back" of the midline while the knee on the right is bent forward slightly. These types of deformities can be due to bone malformation but are more likely to be due to abnormal laxity or tightness of the tendons.
